2005 PA Youth Survey Results

Results of the 2005 PA Youth Survey are available for public review on the TESD website. The District participates in this survey every two years, along with Chester County school districts and many other districts across the state.

In conjunction with the survey results, a report of a study by Interactive Health, LLC, conducted as part of a contractual agreement with the District, is also available. The purpose of the study was to determine the appropriateness of the District’s current prevention and intervention programs and to provide recommendations to address the problem of substance abuse among our community’s youth. Key study results will be discussed at a future Education Committee meeting.

“This report is meant as an additional aid that supports the TESD community in their advancement from awareness to action and, through implementation of evidence-based strategies, can help to reduce the use and abuse of alcohol and drugs in the community. This report accentuates the many positive attributes demonstrated by TESD students and directs the district and the community towards interventions that promote and strengthen these assets.” (TESD Report, Interactive Health, p.1)

These reports call for strong community involvement to change our youth’s behavior by strengthening their assets and by reinforcing beliefs and attitudes to reduce substance use, particularly underage drinking, among our youth.

Please join us on November 6th, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, at the Upper Main Line YMCA Carriage House to hear more about how you can help.
